Small, rectangular, Polish calendar for the year 2009. The calendar has an image of a traditional Polish House on its front cover and consist of a series of removable sheets for each day of the year. The calendar lists the names celebrated in Poland on each “name day”. In Poland, name days are widely celebrated, and most calendars contain the names celebrated each day. Name day celebrations in Poland traditionally involve a gathering of friends and family at the celebrant's home followed by drinking and socialising, similarly to birthday celebrations. Child celebrants, and often adults too, receive presents, just like on their birthday.
