Oil on canvas painting entitled ‘Borsch’. The painting was produced by members of the Polish Community in 2009 along with the Polish Artist Bartlomiej Folta. The artists were inspired by Polish sounds, smells, food and images as they produced this work. This contemporary, inspirational work was named ‘Borsch’ after the Polish soup. Borsch is a vegetable soup from Eastern Europe. It is traditionally made with beetroot as a main ingredient which gives it a strong red colour. The strong red colour in the painting indiates why the artists decided to call it this name.
