Titus was the son of George Barham, founder of the Express Dairy Company Limited. Express Dairies were the first dairy company to use the rail networks to transport fresh, clean milk into London from the surrounding countryside. Titus took over the copmany after his father's death and expanded it to include a number of Express teashops, cafes and a bakery.
