Small piece of Goss china in the shape of a swan with a coat of arms on its breast underneath which has written on it: 'Cricklewood'. British made with a 'W' stamp on its base.
Collecting decorative china became a craze in Victorian and Edwardian times when day trippers bought small ivory coloured porcelain ornaments decorated with the coat of arms of the locality to take home as a memento. Goss china was the product of the Stoke-on-Trent pottery owned by William Henry Goss. In all there are over 2,500 different models and they can be found with over 10,000 different decorations.
