Souvenir sugar tongs from the British Empire Exhibition, held in Wembley Park in 1924 and 1925. They belonged to the donor's grandparents who travelled from their home in Wales to visit the exhibition. The donor explains that: 'I was aware of the item as a child and of the story relating to them. When I cleared my late parents' home, they came into my possession.' The silverplated tongs have a figure engraved on each handle, and on one side, a large red, blue and white crest has been attached. It reads: 'Wembley 1924 Empire Exhibition'.
