Quilt made from small round patches of silk and other cloths, in different colours, hand stitched. The backing is no longer present. Made to fit a double bed.
According to the donor, who received the item from a lady called Joyce Eleanor Upton (nee Hill), who died in about 2017 (over 100 years old), she used to attend the Thursday Ladies Club in Kensal Rise. There were about 20 ladies. The mother of one of the ladies who lived in the area made it from unwanted or discarded dress material, during the First World War. It originally had a black satin backing but this has disintegrated.'
