Framed painting, 'SNOWSTORM IMMINENT', 'TAYLORS LANE POWER STATION & BRIDGE RD., WILLESDEN LONDON NW10 DECEMBER 9TH 3.30 p.m., Frederick HEATH - 1962' Two rows of terrace houses stretch away to the three chimneys of the power station. The sky is grey and white. On the reverse of this painting, a label declares that it depicts Taylor's Lane Power Station and Bridge Road, Willesden, on December 19th 1962 at 3.30pm.
The first coal-fired power station was built on the site in 1903 by the Willesden Urban District Council and sold to the North Metropolitan Electric Power Suppy Co in 1904. This station closed in 1972 and is presumably the station shown in this painting. There is now a power station the site opened in 1979 and remotely operated from Enfield Power Station.
