Thomas Edison, the American inventor and businessman, had established the Edison General Electric Company by 1890. In 1892 the company merged with its' competitor The Thomson-Houston Company to form the General Electric Company. This iron weighs four pounds and has a thumb-rest on the handle for comfortable use.
