A thatcher is shown at work on the roof of a Trobridge house, with a ladder to his right and chimney to left. Thatched roofs were a common feature of Trobridge houses and many had water sprinklers built into the roof in case of fire. A number of the houses designed by Ernest George Trobridge can still be seen on Buck Lane today.
