Press release reads: 'A team of nine boys from Guiness, headed by Joe Rush, foreman i/c 'The Boys' Scheme' at the Guiness Park Royal Brewery, entered a decorated float in 'The Big Push' on Sunday, 12 July. This event was to raise funds for the Mayor of Brent's Youth Year Appeal, which has been launched to build a centre for handicapped youth.
'Many youth clubs entered teams in the event, whihc covered an eight mile course, starting at Neasden Recreation Ground and finishing at Brent Town Hall and which involved the teams in pushing their floats as far as possible along the route.
Sponsors donated various sums for each mile covered and the Guinness team raised almost £200 towards this very worthy cause. Our photograph shows the Mayor of Brent giving some encouragement to the Guinness boys and Joe Rush.'
