Brent Archives

The map collection includes estate maps from major land owners in the London Borough of Brent and its predecessors, maps of Middlesex, maps of greater London, maps of the Borough of Willesden and its predecessors used by the local government for various purposes and ordnance survey maps covering the Brent area.

This collection has been put together by the Archive since it was opened as part of the Grange Museum in 1977. Some of the maps were used by the local government for various purposes before being transferred to the archive. A majority of the material was transferred from the Grange Museum when the Archive moved to Cricklewood Library in 1994, these items generally have previous NM reference numbers. Further parts of the collection have been donated by members of the public after the archive's move.
