Large rectangular shaped metal road sign dated c. 1950. The sign is for a public weighbridge with 'PUBLIC WEIGHBRIDGE NO PARKING' written on the front. The rear of the sign is inscribed with 'County Council Middlesex. Weights and Measurers Office. Open for the verification of appliances Tuesdays & Fridays 10AM-1PM. Public Weighbridge available for public use saturdays 9am-5pm at other times by appointment.' A weighbridge is a platform scale flush with a roadway for the weighing of vehicles, cattle etc.
