Scope and Content
Pen and watercolour view of The Bell Inn , Kilburn by F.W. Philthorpe who died in 1899. This is an 1880 copy of an 18th century engraving of the Edgware Road with a coach and four horses outside The Bell Inn and some figures in the doorway.
Thought to be the work of an artist called Pailthorpe, who did the drawings for Oliver Twist and Great Expectations by Charles Dickens ( according to information from the Parker Gallery).
